WOOD OF STRUCTURE


ANGÉLIQUE OR TEAK OF GUYANA
(Dicorynia guianensis)

Sapwood differentiated well from 2 to 10 cms. Drink perfect purplish bronze or brown brown. Grain means, straight thread.
 
USE:

because of her good physical and mechanical characteristics, of her beautiful ornamental aspect and of the good quality of grûmes, Angélique is convenient for a trés large number of uses (internal or outside joineries - parquets - furniture - decoration - skeleton - decks - shed - brosserie - cutlery industry.





GONFOLO or MANDIOQUEIRA OR GREY CEDAR
(Qualea spp ., Ruizterania spp)

Sapwood differentiated well by color white greyish. Perfect wood either pink, brown, or light brown. Grain means, slightly waved straight thread or contrefilé.

USE:

the top-grade flows can be reserved for the manufacturing of common joineries or déléments of furniture. Generally speaking the GONFOLO agrees well there caisserie, in coffering, but especially in skeleton équarri - skeleton - visible beam - beam of fireplace because of its color which calls back that of the oak. He can also be used for the realization of the skeletons of wooden houses and for the manufacturing of parquet.




WOOD OF JOINERY


 
AMARANTH OR PURPLE WOOD 
(Peltogyne spp.)

Differentiated well pink pale sapwood in white grey. Wood completes of characteristic color purple or less dark, becoming more marked slowly in time..
Grain at the end, sometimes slightly waved straight thread or contrefilé.
 
USE: 

because of its good physical and mechanical qualities, of its opportunities of manufacturing and its stability once implemented, the Amaranth can be convenient for numerous uses. 
Its color predisposes this wood to uses in decoration and in cabinetmaking, but he can agree also for the manufacturing of massive or plated furniture or the réalistion of garden furniture. 
In decoration, 
It is also appreciated lamellé - stuck in mixture with the other essences there. 
It is also advisable for the manufacturing of staircases and parquets. He can be also used in outside joinery and for the realization of entrances or garden. 
It is also advisable for the realization of street furnitures. 
In special cases, it can be looked  for its hardness and for its  good mechanical properties (industrial parquets, skeletons, big joinery, etc.... 
Finally, he can be used in cutlery industry, brosserie and tournerie. 
It is also advisable for the manufacturing of musical instruments, tails of billiards(billiard table), sleeves of tool. 
In the USA, the Amaranth is trés looked for for the realization of luxury coffins. To note that his(her,its) use for the manufacturing of toys was trés appreciated formerly.


COURBARIL 
(Hymenaea courbaril)

Sapwood very different from color cremates. Drink perfect orange brown with sometimes dark brown veins. Fine grain and straight thread. Few of contrefil.
 
USE: 

because of its good physical and mechanical characteristics, of the good return in the sawing and of its ease of drying, Courbaril was appreciated for a long time and can be convenient for a large number of uses: veneer - decoration - arrangement of boats - furniture of up-market both in massif and in veneer, slicing or sawing - parquets - staircases. 
He can also be used brosserie there and for the realization of wooden turned or ornamental objects. It is indicated as arching well in the vapor. 
Wood stable and little sensitive(perceptible) to the variations of humidity.


SAINT MARTIN JAUNE  or ANGELIM
(Hymenolobium spp.)

Sapwood differentiated well by color white cremates. Yellow perfect, beige wood with orange-coloured brown. Unrefined grain, rather regular contrefil.
 
USE: 

considering the made essays,  yellow Martinmas appears as an interesting wood and enough polyvalant. 
Its property mechanics are good, the aspect of the wood is, furthermore, attractive. 
Yellow Martinmas can be thus employed on furnishing, common or ornamental. It is perfectly advisable for all the outside and internal types of joineries. 
In this last case, a treatment will however be necessary. 
Furthermore, in skeleton, in skeleton or it parqueterie, yellow Martinmas can give excellent results.
 Its capacity in the collage and its weak retreat allow finally to envisage an use in structure, skeleton or panels stuck lamellés-. 
On the other hand, its industrial use in veneer does not seem desirable.

WOOD FOR OUTSIDE (CONTACT GROUND)



BAGASSE OU TATAJUBA
(Bagassa )

Yellowish white well differentiated BAGASSE or TATAJUBA ( Bagassa) sapwood. Wood completes of  yellow beige color in the sawing then plain chestnut. Unrefined grain, regular frequent contrefil.

USE:

shipbuilding - skeleton wood - parquets - furnishing - cabinetmaking - etc.





SAINT MARTIN ROUGE
(Andira coriacea)

Yellowish differentiated Sapwood. Drink perfect brown, dark red with parenchymes lights plentiful trés. Grain means, straight thread.

USE:

Martinmas appears as a dense and hard wood, of good durability, presenting high mechanical properties.
Red Martinmas can be successfully employed on cabinetmaking, it tabletterie and for the realization of turned objects (balusters, tails of billiards, sleeves of umbrella).
Although we use in joinery of essences of lighter density, red Martinmas can be used in internal or outside joinery, notably for the manufacturing of entrances, the use for which it is particularly appreciated.
It is to note that in the USA its use for constructions in fresh water (sluice gates, needles of dam, etc.) is appreciated. Red Martinmas posséde the property to weaken the vibrations.





GREEN EBONY OR IPE
(Tabebuia spp.)

 Sapwood differentiated well by beige color clear. Drink perfect reddish dark brown trés finely streaked with yellow greenish. Fine grain, contrefil always present.
 
USE:

because of its good physical and mechanical characteristics and of its good return in the sawing, the green Ebony is convenient for numerous uses.
By its good durability, the wood of the green Ebony can be used outside on crossbars - posts - any permanent usage with the ground. Its hight mechanical resistance facilitates its use under construction kick out - carosserie - to work of vehicle - bottom of car - shipbuilding - etc....
It can also be convenient for the realization of massive furniture - parquets - staircases - turned objects - etc....



FRANK BALATA
(Manikara bidentata)

Sapwood indeed distinctde color rosâtre. Drink perfect red to the sawing then red brown sinks with sometimes purplish veins by aging. Fine grain and straight thread.

USE:

 hydraulic construction kicks out - decks - skeletons wood - shipbuildings - outside joineries.



WACAPOU
(Vouacapoua americana)

Well differentiated Sapwood, of color cremates. Dark brown perfect wood streaked with clearer zones. Fine grain with means, straight thread.

USE:

hard wood but of an easy work.
Wacapou is one of better wood of heavy construction, outside skeleton, port installation, shipbuilding, pilotis.
It is successfully employed for the manufacturing of parquets.
 It is also used in joinery where its relative working ease is estimated and also for the tabletterie and the small cabinetmaking, the sleeves of knife - silversmith's trade - accessories of desk and whim...
